AI Technology Project Manager — Contract
Our client is seeking an experienced AI Technology Project Manager to provide immediate project leadership for active and emerging artificial intelligence initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a technology project leader who has hands-on experience managing AI or AI-enabled projects and can step into an active portfolio with minimal ramp-up time.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technology project management skills, exceptional cross-functional leadership, and practical experience guiding AI initiatives from evaluation and planning through implementation, adoption, and transition to operational support.
What You'll Do
- Provide project leadership for active and emerging AI initiatives from evaluation and planning through implementation, adoption, and transition to operational support.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans.
- Manage scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and status reporting.
- Coordinate stakeholders across business, technology, data, architecture, security, privacy, compliance, vendors, and operations.
- Help define AI use cases, measurable outcomes, success criteria, governance requirements, and implementation plans.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility into project progress, risks, decisions, investments, and expected business value.
- Manage iterative delivery in an environment involving changing requirements and technical uncertainty.
- Drive execution, accountability, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of technology project management experience, including direct experience leading AI or AI-enabled projects.
- Demonstrated success leading AI or AI-enabled technology initiatives.
- Experience managing AI proofs of concept, pilots, and production implementations.
- Strong technology project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Experience coordinating business, data, engineering, architecture, security, privacy, compliance, and vendor teams.
- Ability to effectively manage iterative delivery, changing requirements, and technical uncertainty.
- Strong capabilities in risk, issue, dependency, budget, governance, and stakeholder management.
- Ability to communicate AI concepts, risks, limitations, and business implications to nontechnical audiences.
- Strong focus on execution, accountability, adoption, and measurable business results.
Important
This position is not an AI engineering or data science role. However, practical AI delivery experience is a core requirement rather than simply a preferred qualification.
The successful candidate should be able to step immediately into active initiatives and begin contributing with minimal ramp-up time.
Additional Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Must be comfortable working a standard Monday–Friday remote schedule of 7–4, 8–5, or 9–6.
- Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background and drug screening.
