Associate Attorney – Georgia Real Estate Litigation

A respected national law firm client is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Georgia litigation team. This is a fully remote opportunity for a Georgia-licensed attorney with experience in litigation, motion practice, and courtroom proceedings who is looking to take on a meaningful caseload and work on sophisticated real estate matters.

The attorney will represent mortgage lenders and institutional investors in commercial and residential foreclosure, title disputes, and real estate litigation, handling matters from initial review through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of contested matters on behalf of residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors.
  • Appear in state and federal court for routine and contested hearings.
  • Argue motions necessary to successfully resolve foreclosure, eviction, title curative/title dispute, HOA/COA, and related matters.
  • Review incoming litigation and develop case strategy.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and resolution.
  • Analyze loan files, title reports, and other client documentation.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations.
  • Attend and participate in trials.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Georgia Bar license and in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
  • 1–8 years of relevant litigation experience preferred.
  • 1–8 years of motion practice experience.
  • 1–8 years of courtroom experience.
  • Experience with foreclosure litigation involving residential and/or commercial property is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Georgia mortgage foreclosure law is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with the Georgia Code of Civil Procedure and Supreme Court Rules is preferred.
