Senior Corporate Counsel - Supply Chain
Senior Corporate Counsel – Supply Chain
About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading healthcare services organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to join its Legal team and serve as the primary legal partner to its Supply Chain organization.
This is an exciting opportunity for a business-minded attorney who enjoys working closely with operational leaders, negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements, and developing practical legal solutions that support business growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial contracting experience, sound legal judgment, and the ability to balance risk management with the organization's strategic objectives.
This role will work closely with Supply Chain leadership, strategic sourcing, finance, clinical operations, compliance, and other members of the Legal team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead commercial contracting: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage complex supplier agreements, amendments, renewals, and other strategic commercial arrangements.
- Partner with Supply Chain leadership: Serve as a trusted legal advisor to Supply Chain and Category Management teams on contracting strategy, risk allocation, dispute resolution, and commercial matters.
- Drive contracting standards: Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and legal guidance to improve consistency, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Assess and mitigate risk: Identify and advise business partners on legal, regulatory, financial, operational, and compliance risks associated with supplier relationships and commercial transactions.
- Support strategic initiatives: Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain Operations, Finance, Clinical Leadership, Compliance, and Legal on enterprise initiatives and process improvements.
- Improve contracting processes: Help streamline contracting workflows and cycle times while maintaining appropriate legal protections and risk controls.
- Build strong partnerships: Establish credibility with stakeholders across legal, operational, clinical, financial, and executive functions.
What We’re Looking For
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with significant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- In-house legal experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain functions preferred.
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus, particularly experience with ambulatory surgery centers or healthcare services organizations.
- Experience working with group purchasing organizations (GPOs) is preferred.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be more than a strong contract attorney—they will be a strategic business partner who understands how to provide practical legal guidance in a fast-moving environment.
You should be comfortable:
- Negotiating complex agreements and driving transactions to completion.
- Translating legal and regulatory risks into clear, actionable business guidance.
- Finding practical solutions rather than simply identifying potential issues.
- Managing multiple high-priority matters independently.
- Building relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Improving processes and creating efficiencies within a growing organization.
- Communicating effectively with both legal and non-legal audiences.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative Legal team and have a meaningful impact on a critical business function. You’ll have significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence contracting strategy, supplier relationships, and processes that support the company's broader growth objectives.
If you’re a commercial attorney looking to move into a highly visible, strategic in-house role within the healthcare sector, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect with you.
