About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join our client's growing legal team in Montgomery. You will play a vital role in supporting attorneys through the entire lifecycle of complex commercial transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing. Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Management: Assist attorneys in all phases of commercial real estate closings, including the preparation and review of deeds, mortgages, escrow instructions, and settlement statements.

  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence, including reviewing title commitments, exception documents, and ALTA surveys; coordinate the resolution of title and survey issues.

  • Document Drafting: Draft and abstract various commercial documents such as office/retail leases, ground leases, purchase and sale agreements, and loan documents.

  • Lease Administration: Manage and maintain commercial lease documentation, ensuring compliance with legal standards and organizational policies.

  • Research & Filing: Conduct research on local zoning ordinances and real estate statutes; handle document recording with the Secretary of State and local land records.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a primary liaison between clients, lenders, title companies, and brokers to facilitate seamless transactions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal, specifically focused on commercial real estate transactions.

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred; ABA-approved Paralegal Certification is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software. Experience with E-filing and digital document management is essential.

  • Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority deadlines independently.
