Senior Accountant 

Birmingham, Alabama 

$85,000 - $95,000 + Bonus  
 

Our client is hiring a Senior Accountant to lead core accounting and reporting functions across key financial areas. This full-time, in-office position will focus on maintaining reliable financial records, supporting operational reporting needs, and ensuring accurate output for internal and external stakeholders. 

In this position, the Senior Accountant will contribute to financial reporting cycles, support liquidity and working capital visibility, and collaborate with finance leadership to deliver business-focused insights. The role will also play an important part in strengthening internal controls and enhancing reporting processes. 
 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Produce financial reports and assist with preparation of formal financial statements, including supporting schedules and disclosures 

  • Coordinate month-end and quarter-end close processes, including posting entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations 

  • Analyze cash flow activity and contribute to development of reporting related to liquidity and working capital performance 

  • Evaluate revenue trends and build analytical models to support forecasting and performance tracking 

  • Perform variance analysis across income statement, balance sheet, and cash-related accounts 

  • Collaborate with FP&A and accounting leadership to deliver actionable financial insights 

  • Assist with external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance activities including internal control requirements 

  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and reporting systems 
     

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline 

  • Professional designation such as CPA is preferred 

  • At least four years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within complex or multi-entity environments 

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting practices and general accounting standards 

  • Experience with ERP platforms and advanced proficiency in spreadsheet tools 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure 

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail 

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally 

  • Exposure to data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or advanced Excel techniques
