Senior Property Accountant

$75,000 - $95,000 

Our client is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support property accounting functions for a real estate investment and development portfolio. This is a full-time, in-office position responsible for property level accounting, financial reporting, and close activities. 

As Senior Property Accountant, you will manage accounting for assigned properties, prepare financial statements and analysis, collaborate with internal teams, and support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and compliance efforts while providing guidance to junior staff. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage property level general ledger activity, bank reconciliations, and reporting 

  • Prepare financial statements, variance analysis, and management performance reports 

  • Lead month end and year end close processes for assigned properties 

  • Collaborate with development, property management, and asset management teams on active projects 

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long range financial planning 

  • Support audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies 

  • Mentor junior accountants and assist with process and control improvements 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred 

  • Three or more years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate or property accounting 

  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and property accounting principles 

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar systems preferred 

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
