Our partner in the Birmingham area is searching for an Accounting Associate to join their team due to growth.  This is a well-known company based in Birmingham and they have exceptional benefits.  They are seeking a detail-oriented hire to join their finance team. This role is perfect for a professional who enjoys a mix of technical accounting, contract interpretation, and process improvement. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interpret financial and legal obligations within real estate and equipment contracts to capture data in lease management software.
  • Process incoming contracts efficiently to ensure all systems reflect real-time financial information.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify and resolve critical data gaps.
  • Identify and propose adjustments to standard accounting tasks to improve overall departmental efficiency and accuracy.
  • Execute month-end closing tasks, including processing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and researching discrepancies under tight deadlines.
  • Examine and analyze accounting records and financial statements to ensure compliance with procedural standards and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and coworkers on time-sensitive special projects and group initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service when communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Experience reading and interpreting legal or contractual agreements is considered a strong plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet strict financial deadlines.
  • Commitment to professional integrity and "doing the right thing" in all business dealings.
