Associate Attorney
Insurance Defense Attorney (1–3 Years Experience)
Location: Birmingham, AL
Are you an early-career attorney looking to build your litigation skills with a well-established law firm? Our client is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with 1–3 years of litigation experience to join its growing Birmingham office.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and develop your practice in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. You'll have the opportunity to manage your own caseload while receiving mentorship from seasoned attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to provide exceptional client service
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing with the Alabama State Bar
- 1–3 years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred)
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
