Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Technician to join our team. This role requires advanced proficiency in network architecture, design, and troubleshooting, with the ability to align technical solutions with business objectives. The Tier 3 Network Technician will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, growth, and expansion within our client base by providing expert-level technical support and collaborating with technical, sales, and engineering teams. Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively convey network designs and strategies to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Networking:
- Design and implement network architectures that meet organizational objectives.
- Conduct client-facing network consultations to align solutions with business needs.
- Perform advanced network troubleshooting, including packet capture and routing analysis.
- Troubleshoot complex WAN/LAN environments (e.g., MPLS, Cloud VPN).
- Configure and manage advanced routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Provide cabling engineering, design, and consultation services.
- Develop and maintain documentation, practices, and policies for routing and switching.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot switches and routers with advanced features (e.g., stacking and redundancy).
- Manage and troubleshoot spanning tree protocol, port security, and switching automation.
- Design and implement datacenter switching solutions.
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot advanced firewalls with features like stacking, redundancy, and automation.
- Develop and maintain documentation, practices, and policies for firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Meraki, Cisco).
- Design and implement site-to-site VPNs and SSL-VPNs.
- Provide consultation and management of firewall licensing.
- Design and deploy advanced wireless networks using Fortinet, Meraki, Cisco, and Unifi systems.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot wireless infrastructure.
- Develop documentation, practices, and policies for wireless deployment and licensing.
- Act as a subject-matter expert to support technical, sales, and engineering teams.
- Contribute to the growth and innovation of network services within the organization.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executive-level management, to present technical solutions and strategies.
- Proven expertise in network engineering and design, with experience in client-facing roles.
- Proficiency in advanced routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
- CCNP, CISSP, CCDE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
