We’re seeking an energetic and self-motivated Tax Manager to join our client’s team. As the Tax Manager, you will lead a team of tax preparers, overseeing the preparation and review of tax returns, and ensuring the highest quality standards throughout the tax preparation process. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of tax services, offering expert guidance on complex returns, and enhancing the firm’s overall consulting offerings.

Principal Job Activities:
  • Supervise and Mentor: Lead and manage a team of tax preparers, providing guidance, support, and professional development. Ensure that the team meets performance and quality standards
  • Review and Preparation: Oversee the review of tax returns prepared by your team, and personally handle more complex tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of all tax filings. Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise
  • Client Consultation: Offer expert financial insight and advice to clients, assisting with both business and personal tax planning and strategy. Tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of each client
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve tax preparation processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to integrate tax planning with broader consulting services. Contribute to the development of new service offerings and client solutions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or other relevant certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and management, with a proven track record of overseeing tax returns and managing a team
  • Proficiency in tax software and technology tools. Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, both federal and state
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff
  • Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of tax preparation
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships and effectively convey complex information
