In this role, you will work closely with the CFO to perform pricing analysis, business analytics, forecasting, budgeting, and operational metrics reporting, along with ad hoc financial, business, and strategic analyses. You will also support general ledger and month-end responsibilities.

Financial Analyst

We are partnering with a Birmingham-based service company to find a talented Financial Analyst. This company highly values individuals with a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, excellent analytical abilities, and strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively across all levels of the organization. In this role, you will work closely with the CFO to perform pricing analysis, business analytics, forecasting, budgeting, and operational metrics reporting, along with ad hoc financial, business, and strategic analyses. You will also support general ledger and month-end responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the pricing model by providing analysis on pricing requests from the sales team
- Analyze existing contract performance monthly to maintain and grow profit margins
- Analyze Key Performance Indicators on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to spot trends and take timely corrective action
- Work closely with Operations Managers to explain the impact of variances and trends and develop solutions as needed
- Provide financial analysis on company and division financial reporting package monthly
- Participate in M&A activity including initial due diligence of potential acquisitions
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and provide monthly variance analysis
- Analyze certain general ledger accounts and participate in the month-end close process
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other operational reports monthly
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or administration
- A minimum of 2-3 years of accounting or analytical experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Resourceful and possess strong analytical skills
- Strong Excel skills and data extraction experience
