Our Birmingham client is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Project Engineer to play a vital role in supporting our entire manufacturing team. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our operations.
What you'll do:
- Be actively involved in improvement initiatives, overseeing the installation and launch of new processes, capital projects, and cost-saving measures.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes.
- Conduct time studies to identify areas for improvement, reduce costs, and boost production efficiency.
We're looking for someone with:
- A strong foundation in manufacturing and construction engineering principles.
- Expertise in robotic system design, installation, and programming.
- Prior experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- The ability to effectively start up and optimize production systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey technical information.
- A talent for organization, time management, and building strong relationships with colleagues.
- A commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge to drive innovation.
- A keen eye for detail and a dedication to accuracy.
- A reliable and dependable work ethic.
You'll also be responsible for:
- Evaluating the feasibility, manufacturing methods, and time requirements for upcoming production jobs.
- Keeping facility drawings updated and accurate.
- Analyzing problems, gathering data, and drawing sound conclusions.
- Creating reports, procedures, and effectively presenting information to various audiences.
- Actively collaborating with the team to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Developing concepts for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Supporting engineering execution schedule and budget reviews.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of company information.
- Complying with all safety policies and procedures and reporting any unsafe activities.
- Upholding the highest standards of honesty and integrity.
To qualify:
- You must be proficient in using spreadsheets, word processing software, email, 3D graphics software, and technical diagrams/flowcharts.
- You should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in project engineering.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
