Laboratory System Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated LIS Administrator to play a vital role in optimizing our laboratory workflows. As the central figure for laboratory software, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other critical applications used in our daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support and training to staff for effective utilization of the LIS, including troubleshooting, workflow enhancement, and tailored employee training.
  • Monitor software updates and evaluate new offerings from vendors to assess their impact and relevance to organizational needs.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee updates to existing applications and the implementation of new ones into organizational workflows.
  • Manage user lists, customize application records/forms, and configure order choices and lab tests within the LIS to align with organizational requirements and public health reporting mandates.
  • Define integration requirements, project plans, and assist in customer onboarding for integrating the LIS with customers' EMR systems.
  • Support sales and account management teams in customer onboarding, EMR interface implementation, testing, and ongoing support.
  • Foster collaborative relationships between sales, IT, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and maintain validation documentation, SOPs, and integrations with state public health agencies and other laboratory systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient functioning.

Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of healthcare business applications and system integration for business systems.
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation) and a collaborative work ethic.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing customer onboarding and support.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data exchanges, HL7 messaging, ERP, and laboratory sample processing integrated into business systems.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office, Project, Visio, Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Strong organization and time management skills for project coordination and budget adherence.
