Our partner in Birmingham, AL is searching for an Accounts Analyst to work with their team and assist the managers in servicing their clients.  They are looking for a sharp and capable hire who has 3+ years of experience Excel (Pivot Tables and V-Lookups)  and working in an analytical yet customer friendly environment.   If you have the experience and the drive that is needed, please apply today!   
Responsibilities will include: 
  • Processes applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests and other items related to the servicing of clients.  
  • Assists clients with policy coverage, exclusions and related questions and assists Producers in servicing clients.
  • Services client accounts with oversight of Producers or Account Executives, which includes research/analysis and handling of client questions on coverage and other policy/contractual issues.  Makes routine policy adjustments.  
  • Assists in the renewal process, including exposure analysis for client (e.g., reviews census/experience data, contractual requirements for insurance), strategizes with Producer/Account Executive and client regarding whether to market and if applicable, obtains and evaluates quotes, may negotiate premium and commission rates on behalf of clients for best alternatives, prepares proposal, and oversees accuracy of insurance binder.  
  • Provides support to Producers and, if applicable, Account Executives, including preparing presentations and proposals, and participating in meetings with prospective clients as part of team.
  • Consistently establishes and maintains high levels of trust and confidence with clients by initiating introductions, through periodic contacts, and by promptly responding and resolving client questions and issues 
  • Process all applications, policies, endorsements, incoming mail, binders, schedules, certificates, audits, and other items related to the servicing of clients policies in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Inform and educate clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusions, and insurance coverage needs.  Assist clients in making coverage changes;
  • Responsible for timely, accurate invoicing and monthly expirations;
  • Meet all quality and timeliness standards in the Agency Management System while properly documenting all activity;
  • In conjunction with the Sales Team, determine strategy which includes coverage determination, target pricing, marketing determination;
  • Submit applications with proper supporting documentation and follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotes and policies;
  • Prepare proposals and provide other technical support in the sales process as needed;
  • Work with Sales Team to round out accounts with ancillary coverages 
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years in distribution industry
  • Some product knowledge preferred
  • Strong organizational and planning skills required for multi-tasking and project management
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Intermediate/advanced PC skills (esp. Microsoft Office and Mainframe applications).
  • Presentation skills
  • Reading comprehension (contract interpretation) 
  • Analytical skills to determine root cause of problems, formulate solutions, develop new reporting matrix, and create innovative approaches to serving and selling customers in an ever changing and demanding market environment
