We are assisting a Birmingham area service company with their search for a Financial Analyst. The company values people with a strong work ethic, a sharp attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to professionally interact with all levels of the company. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with the CFO to provide pricing analysis, business analytics, forecasting, budgeting, operational metric reporting and other ad hoc financial, business and strategic analysis as required as well as have some general ledger and month-end responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the pricing model by providing analysis on pricing requests from the sales team
- Analyze existing contract performance on a monthly basis to maintain and grow profit margins
- Analyze Key Performance Indicators on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to spot trends and take timely corrective action
- Work closely with Operations Managers to explain the impact of variances and trends and develop solutions as needed
- Provide financial analysis on company and division financial reporting package on a monthly basis
- Participate in M&A activity including initial due diligence of potential acquisitions
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and provide monthly variance analysis
- Analyze certain general ledger accounts and participate in the month-end close process
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other operational reports on a monthly basis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or administration
- A minimum of 2-3 years of accounting or analytical experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Resourceful and possess strong analytical skills
- Strong Excel skills and data extraction experience
