The Tax Analyst must possess a high level of professionalism and excellent communication skills as this role has daily interaction with the Executive management team, outside business advisors, and other internal business partners. Candidates should have a background in federal and state corporate tax regulations, the ability to research complex tax issues, and experience with tax planning to achieve strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of federal and multi-state tax returns and trust returns
- Compilation of necessary tax information from internal sources and external investors
- Preparation and review of the income tax workpapers and supporting schedules
- Responsibility over the compliance of the overall tax functions with regard to internal controls and documentation
- Conduct annual tax planning on operating units and at the corporate level
- Research tax implications on new strategic initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with preference given to a Master’s degree in Taxation
- CPA certification or progress toward certification required
- A minimum of one year of experience in corporate tax or large public accounting firm
- Excellent analytical and technical abilities and the ability to effectively communicate findings and complex tax situations
