This role has immediate opportunity for growth once acclimated to the business. The Assistant Controller will be very hands-on and required to dig into all facets of the financial accounting operations. While oversight of the details is required, the ability to communicate with leadership and investors is also a critical part of the position. Responsibilities:
- Play an integral role in the monthly financial close process by preparing account reconciliations as well as analyzing data and preparing journal entries
- Prepare/analyze the financial close package which includes financial statements and budget vs. actual analysis
- Manage the day-to-day finance operations of the organization; this includes activities such as reviewing A/P and expense reports, corresponding with vendors and contractors, assisting employees with on/off-boarding and payroll questions
- Support operations to grow and scale by participating in automation, process enhancement and system implementation initiatives
- Monitor, enforce, and when appropriate, establish policies and procedures necessary for mitigating risk while enhancing the accuracy of the Company's reported financial results
- Work closely with external auditors as necessary
Requirements:
- In office work requirement; flexibility provided but expectation of work being performed in the office on daily basis
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Experience within a small company environment handling detailed and executive level responsibilities
- Understanding of US GAAP and a desire to continue to develop knowledge
- Very proactive, hardworking and strong desire to succeed
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Great team player and willing to roll up sleeves to help others on the team
