Our client is in high growth mode and as a result adding a Controller to their team! The ideal candidate will adapt to change quickly, have problem resolution, and take ownership of business recommendations as if it were their personal company. This previously outsourced position will involve all facets of day-to-day accounting and general business matters (insurance, banking, risk management, customer relations). With a variety in your daily schedule, one day may involve delivering financial results utilized for M&A and the next day may require handling problem resolve with a customer regarding a billing issue.

 

Responsibilities:

· Play an integral role in the monthly financial close process by preparing account reconciliations as well as analyzing data and preparing journal entries

· Prepare/analyze the financial close package which (can) include financial statements and budget vs. actual analysis

· Support the day-to-day finance operations of the client; this includes activities such as reviewing A/P and expense reports, corresponding with vendors and contractors, assisting client employees with on/off-boarding and payroll questions

· Support the client’s operations to grow and scale by participating in automation, process enhancement and system implementation initiatives

· Manage partner payments, commission payments and other relevant cash flows

· Monitor, enforce, and when appropriate, establish policies and procedures necessary for mitigating risk while enhancing the accuracy of the Company's reported financial results

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred

· 4+ years of accounting experience

· Experience within a small company environment handling detailed and executive level responsibilities

· Understanding of US GAAP and a desire to continue to develop knowledge

· Very proactive, hardworking and strong desire to succeed

· Strong organization and project management skills

· Detail oriented

· Strong critical thinking skills

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Great team player and willing to roll up sleeves to help others on the team
