Our client, who was named as one of Birmingham’s “best places to work”, is hiring a Senior Accountant to join their growing company. This role will work with a large accounting team and play an integral role in the financial reporting process for the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, either within public accounting or industry, strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with all levels of the company. The company has an outstanding office culture, strong benefits and are very family oriented.


  • Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Participate in and prepare a variety of closing journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Review month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identify opportunities within the general ledger accounting function to increase efficiencies and processes
  • Assist in ad hoc analysis and projects as required
  • Coordinate and assist with external financial statement audits

Basic Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Master’s degree & CPA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in public or corporate accounting required
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical accounting/problem solving skills and attention to accuracy
  • Good work ethic
