Our partner in Birmingham, AL is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll/HR Administrator to manage all aspects of their payroll and HR processes. The ideal candidate MUST HAVE Ceritified Payroll Experience, comprehensive knowledge of payroll law, regulations, taxes, and excellent communication skills. 


Responsibilities will include:
  • Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of employee earnings, deductions, and hours worked
  • Handle payroll and human resource inquiries from employees and management
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, 401K deposits and tax filings as required
  • Reconcile weekly benefit deductions
  • Manage annual open enrollment for benefits
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations
  • Process new hires and assist with their onboarding
  • Handle special payroll/HR projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Manage Workers Compensation policies/audits/claims

Qualifications:
    • Must be experienced with Certified Payrolls
    • Construction industry experience is a plus
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration
    • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft programs
    • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
